Ventnor in the Off-Season
The crowds went home. The good stuff didn’t. Here’s where to eat, shop and hang out in Ventnor once summer packs up.
◆ ◆ ◆
Summer in Ventnor is great, but locals know a secret: fall might be better. There’s parking. There’s no wait at your favorite table. The boardwalk belongs to the dog walkers and the sunrise joggers, and the ocean still looks like a million bucks.
Best of all, the businesses that make this town what it is are still open, still cooking and still ready to see you. Here’s your guide to an off-season Ventnor, all from members of the Ventnor Business Association.
📌 Off-season hours can shift week to week. Call ahead or check socials before you head out.
Start Slow

Ventnor No. 7311
A small-batch bakery and coffee shop two blocks from the beach. Fall is prime pastry season, and the specials still sell out early, even with the summer crowd gone. Grab an espresso and walk it to the boards.

North Beach Cafe & Creamery
Hearty breakfasts, fresh bakery treats and homemade comfort food on Atlantic Avenue, served all year round. It’s the kind of place where a chilly morning turns into a second cup.

Grab & Go

Florida Cold Cuts
A Ventnor and Atlantic City tradition for over 40 years and open year-round. Grab a made-to-order sub (try The 7301), prepared foods and a bottle for the weekend in one stop. It’s Sunday football fuel, sorted.

Dinner, No Wait

Red Room Cafe
The Rossi family’s homemade pasta, bread and eggplant parm are built for cool nights. They serve dinner Tuesday through Sunday, and reservations are recommended. It’s BYOB, so bring a bottle.

Nucky’s Kitchen & Speakeasy
Fine dining upstairs and a Prohibition-era speakeasy downstairs, with craft cocktails and live music. Off-season date night doesn’t get much better.

Ventnor Social
Downbeach’s sports bar for food, drinks and every big game. Football season is in full swing, and this is where Ventnor watches it.
Learn More →

Capri Pizza
A family-owned shore pizzeria open seven days with dine-in, takeout and delivery. Order the Grandma Pie, which locals call one of Ventnor’s best-kept secrets.

Something Sweet

Jagielky’s Homemade Candy
Small-batch chocolate made fresh daily since 1972, and open year-round. Pick up the buttercreams and the Almond Butter Crunch now, and remember them for holiday trays later.
Learn More →

Sasscer’s Cheesecakes
There are 40+ flavors on Dorset Avenue, and fall is apple peach cobbler and salty caramel season. Get there early on Saturday mornings for fresh scones and crab quiche.

Rainy-Day Plans

Ventnor Square Theater
A historic theater with laser projection and Dolby Atmos in its flagship room, plus a cocktail from Nucky’s to carry in. Sweater weather is movie weather.

Ventnor City Cultural Arts Center
There are painting, pottery, mosaic and dance classes for every age. The library branch and the Ventnor History Museum are under the same roof, so one stop covers the whole afternoon.
